Paul’s Gospel Story

Although I do love Pauline theology and doctrine, especially as I have been studying it in Galatians and Romans, I don’t think that the focus of Paul’s message is doctrine. The core of Paul’s Gospel is not a formula or a system, it is a story.

The Gospel is a story of radical change through Christ, a message of God breaking into HIStory to renew the whole world and put His glory on display. This is the fire that fueled Paul’s theological rigor and his zeal to proclaim the message of Jesus Christ to the nations. And we mustn’t forget that this is what fuels us, the reality of God coming near and transforming us.
