Totally agree, John. This chapter was pivotal for me. As silly as the diagram above looks, it is really a huge paradigm shift. I find myself constantly going back to myself at the center of my life, and not Christ or the church.

Great post. I love this chapter from Total Church on community. A life structured around self cannot compete with the kind of life God intends for us and calls us to. Love this vision.

Yeah. That was a fun project. We loved Monk, but we went forward with a local firm for the new website we're developing. We liked the idea of engaging the local business community.

Yeah, bro. It was cool to see Redemption's vision in the videos, and get a window into how it all came together. By the way, I remember you from the Monk Development Church Web Co-op. My church (River West- riverwest.org) was in there with you guys and I recognize your name from the posts. Do you think you guys will stick with E360 and Cobblestone or upgrade? Blessings to you, brother. Keep charging for our Captain and King. - JD

Great post John. I love how folks are beginning to get a handle on how our affections play a vital role in our sanctification. That book sounds solid.

i think the dichotomy between missional and attractional can be taken too far. for sure, the church must be on a mission outside her walls, but a loving, worshipping, life-changing community of Jesus is attractive as well. it's a both/and
